After obtaining a Doctoral degree in France, I returned to teach electrical engineering at Chulalongkorn University for 28 years. I then became an Election Commissioner for 4 years and a Registrar for 2 years at the Asian Institute of Technology. Since then I have been working at Mahidol University on Peace Building especially in the Far South of Thailand. I also serve in many civil society organisations including the THNIC Foundation as its chairman.

Masahisa Kawashima is currently leading NTT’s R&D of Innovative Optical and Wireless Network (IOWN) as the IOWN Technology Director. He is also serving as the Chair of the Technology Working Group at IOWN Global Forum. He has been working as a bridge between technologies and businesses since he joined NTT in 1994. His expertise includes high-speed networking, SDN, cloud/edge computing, AI, and data management. Nowadays, he is exploring innovative ways of making products/services cloud-native levering the evolution of optical communication and optoelectronics integration technologies.

He has long experience support Research and Education network, campus network designs and managing Internet Exchange Points. Jose is an alumnus from the University of Guam with a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.

Naveed Ul Haq is the Asia-Pacific Regional Director for Infrastructure and Connectivity, leading technical, policy, and advocacy work in Internet access, infrastructure, and community development domains.
He is an experienced ICT practitioner, with more than 19 years of experience working with governments, telecommunication operators, development partners, service providers, and civil society organizations.
Prior to joining the Internet Society, Naveed was working with Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Government of Pakistan, as Assistant Director, Information & Communication Technologies (ICT).
He is also an alumni member of ICANN’s fellowship, ISOC’s Next Generation leadership, and Diplo Foundation’s Internet Governance capacity building program.

Tashi Phuntsho

Tashi comes with experience across Telecommunications and IP networks, having worked as a Transmission Engineer and an IP Network Engineer since the early 2000s for Bhutan Telecom. With his knowledge of “how not to do things”, Tashi has been involved in capacity development in the Asia-Pacific region by providing training and technical assistance in a number of technical areas. Tashi has assisted with NSRC workshops as co-instructor, especially at NOGs (btNOG, SANOG). And, was a local host for SANOG23 held in Thimphu, Bhutan. Based in Brisbane, Tashi currently works as the Technology Solutions Lead for a disability care and child protection organisation, while continuing to volunteer as a program committee member for APRICOT, SANOG, mnNOG (founding member) and btNOG (founding member) during his spare time. His current areas of interest include Enterprise Architecture, IPv6 Deployment, Network Programmability and Network Automation, and Securing Internet Routing.

Achie is also very active in the Philippine Internet community and considered as a “pillar” of the Philippine Network Operators Group. He was instrumental in the rebirth of PHNOG and currently function as co-chairman of the same. He is also acting as board of the Internet Society of the Philippines (ISOC)
